Block Island Stripers

2012 Rhode Island charter fishing reports coming soon. Capt. Jack and Capt. Richard will be providing up to date reports on the Spring fishing from Pt. Judith to Block Island. We will include species specific info on Stripers, Bluefish, Tuna, Tautog and Cod.

Fish up to 40# on jigs at the Southwest Corner of Block Island.

Another great trip on Sunday. We limited out on stripers between 34" and 42" mostly on orange tubes with a Tony Aceta chaser spoon down the middle. The action was at the end of the ebb tide on the Southwest Corner of Block Island inside the three mile limit just before Southwest Ledge. Also, school bluefin made an appearance at slack tide between the Fairway Buoy and Tuna Ridge.

We have stopped Cod fishing as the dogfish have taken over at Coxes Ledge and behind Block Island. We have switched to bass fishing.

The striped bass are in at Block Island in big numbers. We have caught stripers to 35# on the Southwest Corner using umbrella rigs and jigs. Also, evening jigging on the North Rip has been very productive.
